Soil
- A healthy soil is one of the most important elements for a successful cultivation and deserves therefore our necessary attention. Most of our parcels are campine sandy soils, typical for the area, varying with some parcels of loamy soil.
- Most of our planting and grubing are done in winter. That time of year we usually have a lot of rain, so extra caution is advised for the soil cultivation.
- A sufficiently high level of humus provides a better cultivating capacity and soil structure. To maintain this level of humus we use certified green compost www.vlaco.be
- Using green manure like mustard, fodder radish and Phacelia also has a good influence on the soil organisms and humus level. Bees are strongly attracted to flowering cover crop like e.g. Phacelia.
